A Simple Idea...
Brisbane, 2014 – a local couple sit contemplating another Sunday lost to the bane of all healthy eaters – weekly food prep. A deceptively long process – between markets, butchers, and a trip to your local health food grocer; followed by hours spent in the kitchen trying to come up with new ways to make large batches of food that don’t all taste the same.
‘Bugger it’ they thought, ‘we want our Sundays back!’ – and there began the search for a food delivery service that didn’t supply meals full of processed carbohydrates, added sugar, preservatives and ingredients they’d never even heard of! To their surprise, Google failed them. Nowhere in Brisbane could a time poor weekend warrior, a health conscious Mum, nor a gluten/lactose/grain free subscriber order fresh meals to be delivered each week. And thus, Caveman Kitchen was born.
Over the years we have grown and now, out of our Brisbane based kitchen, we chop, slice, poach, roast, boil, bake, blend and puree the best ingredients available into delicious meals to be sent out over the whole of South-East QLD, NSW, Canberra, and Melbourne.
Dave & Abbey
Co-Founders and Husbo & Wife, striving every day to live life extraordinary. Having both thrown in the corporate towel, they now devote their time to giving back health and time to the people of Australia. Both driven to lead the best life possible, you will find them most often hiking/running/horsing-around with their little person Olive and pooch Murphy, or out exploring Australia in their 6 wheel drive Land Rover camper (bet you didn’t see that one coming!).
The New Addition
While not technically contributing a whole lot to the cooking process, she’s just so darn cute we couldn’t leave her out. The most recent addition to the Caveman family (born May 14, 2017) Olive enjoys her frequent visits to the kitchen team, loooong naps (which Dave and Abbey are very grateful for), and oddly enough is a connoisseur of fine art (in other words, she likes looking at the pretty pretty colours). In the years to come Olive will no doubt become chief taste tester and feedback giver!
The Customer Love Guru
Caitlin is the friendly face you will see on Live Chat and chirpy voice answering your calls during the week. Living on the Sunshine Coast, Caitlin loves the sun, surf, sand and, luckily for you, a darn good chat! After coming home from travelling the globe for the past 5 years (visiting a measly 32 counties!) it was time for her to try her hand at something new that she could really sink her teeth into (see what we did there?) – fresh food delivery!
Paul, Michael & William
Meet the Three Stooges...errr, Paul, Michael and William that is! These guys are the brains trust and chef extraordinaire’s behind all of the delish dishes created in our kitchen each week. With combined over 80 years experience, serving the likes of Mick Jagger, XXX, and even British Royalty, this team of culinary experts play all out in life and work, and settle for nothing less than extraordinary!
Without this band of merry misfits, Caveman Kitchen just wouldn’t be what it is today! These bright eyed beauties are behind the prep, creation, and packaging of every morsel that leaves our humble kitchen each week. A team of people that hold themselves to the highest standards and values like you’ve never seen before, and has a whoooole lot of fun along the way.
Murphy makes sure the guys in the office are working hard - unfortunately he doesn’t practice what he preaches and can usually be found napping in the sun. He insists on taste tasting all new meals to ensure they pass his strict standards, safe to say we are yet to find a Caveman meal that doesn’t make the cut!
Nat loves to shout the good word about Caveman Kitchen to everyone everywhere! With a background in journalism, marketing and PR, Nat loves writing, being outdoors with her family, palm print of any kind and a good wine. After working in the world of theme parks, the arts,magazines and children's entertainment for over 10 years, fresh nourishing food promotion is Nats new addiction.
Michael loves camping, sci-fi movies and making great food. In particular anything Asian or modern Australian inspired really blows his hair back. What's the point of life if you cannot enjoy exciting and interesting food right? With over 30 years industry experience, including working with 5 star hotels and restaurants fit for royalty, Michael is here to make sure your Caveman Kitchen experience is not only nourishing but deliciously perfect too!
